Why Our Puppies Are Different
The Breed
A Mini Golden Retriever is a mix of Golden Retriever with Cocker Spaniel, King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, and/or Poodle, bred for that same loyal, sweet Golden temperament in a smaller, more manageable size. Most of ours land between 25 and 35 pounds, big enough to be an adventure buddy, small enough to curl up on your lap.

The short version of what goes into every litter before a puppy ever meets your family.
The Daily Routine
- Early neurological stimulation and scent introduction starting at 3 days old
- A daily touch protocol (ears, paws, mouth, belly, nails) so they’re comfortable at vet visits and grooming
- Daily socialization with each puppy to new sounds, textures, smells and situations
- A tailored developmental curriculum for each age and stage

Health & Genetics
Bred healthier on purpose, not by accident.
Backed by a lifetime genetic health guarantee.
Here’s what that looks like in practice: Every parent dog in our program has completed OFA screening for hips, elbows, patellas, cardiac, and eyes. They’ve also had a PennHIP evaluation. Beyond that, all of our breeding dogs undergo a comprehensive genetic panel designed specifically for breeders, the most robust panel available, so we can identify recessive genes and make fully informed breeding decisions.
Every puppy leaves our care with a comprehensive vet check, microchip, and our lifetime genetic health guarantee. Because we don’t just want your puppy to come home healthy. We want them to stay that way.
Another important piece of the genetic picture is COI. This number helps us understand how closely related a puppy’s parents are genetically. We carefully plan our pairings to keep COIs as low as possible, helping preserve genetic diversity and reduce the risk of inherited health problems while supporting overall health and longevity.

Mini Golden Retriever Puppies Available Now
The puppies you see above are our Mini Golden Retriever puppies currently available for sale, along with our newest and upcoming litters.
We know how exciting it is when you finally find that puppy who catches your heart. But choosing your new family member is a big decision, and we want you to feel completely comfortable with it.
That’s why we’re here to answer your questions, tell you what we’ve learned about each puppy’s personality, explain our health testing and breeding program, and help you decide which puppy may be the best fit for your family and lifestyle.
We spend time with these puppies every single day. We watch them grow, play, learn, explore, cuddle, and develop their own little personalities.
Some are confident little adventurers. Some would rather curl up in your lap. Others fall somewhere wonderfully in between.
Getting to know those differences is one of our favorite parts of raising puppies — and it’s also what allows us to help you find the right one.
Raised in Our Home Nursery With Love
We believe how a puppy is raised matters.
Our Mini Golden Retriever puppies are raised in our home nursery, where we can give them the individual attention, affection, handling, and age-appropriate experiences they need during these important early weeks of life.
We don’t want our puppies simply waiting until they’re old enough to leave.
We want them learning. Exploring. Building confidence.
And most importantly, experiencing what it means to feel safe and loved by people.
We observe how each puppy responds to new sounds, textures, handling, people, toys, and situations. We use what we see to provide age-appropriate developmental experiences and to better understand each puppy’s individual temperament.
All of this is done with one goal in mind: preparing our puppies for the day they leave our arms and become part of yours.
Health-Tested Mini Golden Retriever Puppies
When families search for a Mini Golden Retriever for sale, it’s easy to fall in love with a photograph.
We understand. We fall in love with those faces too.
But what’s behind that beautiful puppy matters even more.
Health begins long before a litter is born. That’s why we put so much emphasis on the health and genetics of our parent dogs and make thoughtful breeding decisions based on the information available to us.
Our breeding dogs undergo extensive health testing, including:
-
OFA screening for hips, elbows, patellas, cardiac health, and eyes
-
PennHIP evaluation
-
Comprehensive genetic testing for inherited disease risks
-
Careful evaluation of genetic diversity and Coefficient of Inbreeding (COI)
-
Thoughtful pairing based on health, genetics, temperament, size, and other characteristics
We aren’t interested in breeding Mini Golden Retrievers simply because two dogs can produce beautiful puppies.
We want to understand what we’re putting together and why.
That comes from experience, testing, observation, and years of learning what goes into raising healthy, well-adjusted Mini Golden Retrievers.
A Lifetime Genetic Health Guarantee
Our responsibility doesn’t end when you take your puppy home.
Every puppy leaves Big Hearted Breeders with a comprehensive veterinary health check, age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming, health records, and a microchip.
Most importantly, our puppies are backed by our lifetime genetic health guarantee.
We offer that because we believe breeders should stand behind the puppies they raise.
Our goal isn’t simply for your Mini Golden Retriever puppy to be healthy on the day you bring them home.
Our hope is that you’ll enjoy many wonderful years together.
More Than 10 Years of Hands-On Breeding Experience
Experience matters when you’re choosing someone to trust with your future puppy.
We’ve spent more than a decade breeding and raising dogs, caring for puppies, studying health and genetics, observing temperaments, working with families, and continuing to improve the way we raise our puppies.
That experience has taught us something very important:
Every puppy is different.
And every family is different.
Finding the right match means understanding both.
That’s one reason we take the time to talk with our families before placing a puppy. We want to learn about your home, lifestyle, expectations, and what you’re hoping for in your new companion.
We’ll also tell you what we’ve observed about the puppy you’re considering.
Sometimes that confirms you’ve found your puppy. Other times, our experience may lead us to recommend another puppy who seems like a better match.
Our priority is creating relationships that work for both the puppy and the family.
What Is a Mini Golden Retriever?
A Mini Golden Retriever is bred to capture many of the qualities people adore about the traditional Golden Retriever, including their affectionate, intelligent, people-oriented nature, in a smaller, more manageable dog.
In our breeding program, Golden Retrievers may be thoughtfully combined with Cocker Spaniels, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and/or Poodles to help us work toward the health, temperament, appearance, coat characteristics, and size we’re seeking in our Mini Goldens.
Our Mini Golden Retrievers can vary in adult size depending on their parents and individual litter.
That’s why you’ll see the estimated adult weight listed with our available puppies and upcoming litters above.
Why Families Choose Our Mini Golden Retrievers
We want our families to know as much as possible about where their puppy came from.
That means being open about our parent dogs, health testing, expected size, temperament, how our puppies are raised, and what you can expect after bringing your puppy home.
When you bring home one of our Mini Golden Retriever puppies, you’re receiving much more than an adorable puppy.
You’re getting years of careful breeding experience behind that puppy, extensive parent health testing, early socialization and developmental work, veterinary care before going home, a microchip, our lifetime genetic health guarantee, and continued support from people who genuinely care about the dog you’re bringing into your family.
Because to us, that matters.
